A lot packed into this meeting. :-)"Being on the tightrope is living;
everything else is waiting."

The things on my desk have formed a clique. And they're very dangerous. ;-)
I will never forget this little girl. She was passing out little cards to raise money on a bus in Buenos Aires. She was tiny and had the sweetest little Spanish voice as she went from seat to seat hoping to get some change. I think she had a black eye which broke my heart, but it was her resolve that really moved me. And when she saw me drawing she stopped and looked over at my sketchbook and started talking to me in Spanish, like she was curious about what I was doing. I explained that I didn't speak Spanish, and she kept right on talking. I ached to know what she was asking me. I still do.
In a belated portrait exchange, here is my late drawing of Pati. Thanks for being so patient! You can see the one she did of me here.
I always prefer flying instead of sailing. Typical view from the cheap seats, right before the bald guy in front of me leans back and spills my drink in my lap and onto my computer bag, with a wailing baby and 2 drunk passengers providing the soundtrack.
Andrea (big gay dragon) organized a moleskin exchange for 12 artists from all over the place. We each bought our own, and each month we draw several pages then mail them off, so that in the end we will each have a complete moleskin drawn in by everybody. It's been fun and intimidating. This was one of my drawings that I sent off and will never get back. Sigh. Click here to see more from the whole gang.
The last few weeks have been very foggy for me as my good friend Paul is still unconscious in the hospital after being hit by a truck while on his bicycle. You can track his progress here. I'm very grateful for all of you. Go hug somebody. :-)
My good friend Paul is still in ICU and has been unconscious since this past Saturday after being hit by a truck. You can leave him a comment at getwellsoonpaul. We periodically print out the comments and read them to him, so please send him your love and prayers. And be sure to take time today to let someone important in your life know what they mean to you. Sending you all love and blessings. :-)
My dear friend Paul was hit by a truck while riding his bike last Saturday and has yet to regain consciousness. He is an amazing man, husband, father and friend. You can leave an encouraging comment here. Many thanks. Take the time today to tell someone important how you feel about them. :-)
A pair of red dragonflies hang out in front of my house and perform the most amazing mating rituals. If you want to see more photos of them, click here.
