Illustration Friday - Backwards

Sometimes, just when I think I'm making some progress, it starts to feel like I'm going backwards. You?

I love this question. Someone once told me when I was complaining rather loudly of being stuck (rather than wondering if I was)that no one was ever stuck, and he said it so tenderly and carefully.

  11. Oh, I know this feeling all too well!
I like the way Susan described it.
I try to remember that unless the earth starts spinning backwards then it's all forward progress...I think.

  12. Ohhh, coool illo:)) Maybe you just raised the standards for yourself, subconsciously knowing you have the strength to go further, and it SEEMS like setback, but really it isn't.

  13. Some days it's a few steps forward and a giant leap backwards. Growing pains I guess, no matter what the age. You do look a bit squeezed in that TV though, poor Willie.

I think you already are out of the t.v. and you are just remembering when you were in and you can always get back in, but out of almost any box is better, right? (Unless you are a kitty who needs to do a doody.)

  22. holey holey cats in snowsuits, willie! not only can i relate but i'm seriously feeling very backwards, at this very moment. but, for some dumb reason, it almost feels like i'm SUPPOSED to be going backwards right now? and maybe you are too? in my house, when the boys start to seem to lose some basic skills, but then BOOM pick up newer skills, more advanced, we call that "going back to kindergarten." meaning, we need to lose some of the easier skills, to pick up new and harder ones, that take us farther. i think for adults, this sensation of "going backwards" is what it's all about. oy. that was a ramble...does it make any sense?

happiest of holidays to you, willie! :)))
