Illustration Friday - Seed

From little seeds big things grow. ;-)

I drew this one morning during the High Sierra Music Festival in Northern California. It was peaceful other than the sound of the crows and the snoring. And I was most drawn to the details of the big tree looming over our tents. (click image for a larger view) It's one of the things I love about drawing moments from my life. In a way I'm planting a seed so that a memory can grow.

"Your vision will become clear only
when you look into your heart...

Who looks outside, dreams.
Who looks inside, awakens."

  5. I love the lines in this and the filled page. My brother was one of those recently threatened by the fires and otherwise he loves his home. I'll make sure he sees this drawing.

  21. wonderful clean lines, yet very loose and imaginative. I'm always delighted to see a piece from a sketch book; like peeking into someone's photo album. Nice work.

  29. CB's photoblog is about my grandfather, who i didn't know, as far as i can read it from the photos i inherited and the stories told by relatives. it was a strange and unusual life and family...

had he still been alive he would have been 131 years old.
i, his granddaughter victorie, am 62..

thank you for your interest! :-)
