Illustration Friday - detach

Not sure why, but this just seemed to fit the topic. Because I'm detached when I dream? Or detached from needing to remember? Or am I just crazy and/or deluded? :-)

"He is a wise man who does not
grieve for the things which he has not,
but rejoices for those which he has."

--Epictetus

  1. Dear Willie,
    You look pretty serene dreaming.
I like your "whistling breath". Nice lines and composition.
    Keep dreaming and being free!
    Best to you always...

  2. Dreaming is a perfect detachment :)
I too, love your curly-Q breath and your stubble. You always have such great details and the lettering finishes it off in Willie style!

Nice style and take on the topic as always. Thank you for your comments on my illustration.

Obviously you were too busy sleeping and dreaming, so I sneaked in there before you.

  5. Willie,
You're right, we were on the same page today. This is delightful; I love the question marks and the concept of an unremembered recurring dream. The Epictetus quotation was just what I needed today, too.

  14. I like your dreamer. I always do Cecil B deMille dreams myself. I'm happily developing a lettering based on some of yours. Thanks!

  17. Hope the dreams are as good as the drawing! But I guess unremembered good dreams are not worth much... or are they?

I think it's a blessing to have a few hours of detachment. Your figure looks blissful in his detached world or un-remembered dreams:>
