I like this work more than the works drawing only with lines!
Love the illustration, as usual...spanning this week the world of graphic design and illustration which ROCKS.And the Douglass quote is perfect for all of us. Thanks for giving my Friday some context! Best regards--
Instead of "Where's Waldo" -- it's Where's Willie!I see you cut up a LA map... is it safe to be without a map in LA???
loving this. you're still the line king, but this is great
The answer is: under the smog cover in LA.
all the time. nice piece.
Sometimes a diversion from typical style is refreshing, eh? This looks more Basquait-like than your line drawings. I like both.
I think it's brilliant that you used a map to ask where you fit in!You fit in the art world Willie, that's a given :)
Excellent Willie, You are the first again!
love it Willie!!! wonderful work....
enough said. i totally feel you on this. great work.
Hey fast illo.man! I think the answer is here.
Simply perfect with a ton of depth!
This is a cool take on the prompt and very different from your usual! Talented guy!www.indigeneartforms.blogspot.com
i know that feeling. you illustration reflects that sentiment very well
lol i was finishing an illo for my topic "no man is an island but i used to be one" but then again i found a more fun topic..so i guess we are all "islands" at some point in our life.
nice touch with the cut up map! :)it all goes so well together.
great concept and work baronet (how do you manage to get the first slot on the new IF by the way?). I would add that an island could be the place where you finally find yourself. in fact you need to be detached to find yourself!joking a bit mariowww.nerosunero.org(now let try to decipher the word verification here below... a difficult one, as difficult sometime is the interpreation of some works for IF)(joking again!!!)got it!
I think we as artist all feel that way sometimes. We are plagued by our own feelings, but that is what makes us see what we see. Great collage.
love the use of the map!
What a good illustration !
flippin cool. as usual.
oOoh willie this is so beautiful and tender peace of art! oOooO ;]
I like your answer and interpretation to that. :) and thanks for your comments on my blog.
By the way, may I know how do you add the text below "Leave your comment"?Cheers!
This is fabulous Willie. The play with words and letters and the concept is brilliant :) This is one hell of a spot! Great coordinates... of "color" I mean :)
I am not sure WHERE you are, but my best guess is southern CA. As for the change of style, I like it! I also really really like maps. All kinds of maps. But be careful because if you go too far it could turn on you. The maps I mean. After all maps spelled backwards..... is ---- (YEP!)
MAP SPELLED BACKWARDS IS SPAM! I GOT IT! (took me a minute...)i really dig this. the black is very powerful but the collage play is pretty whimsical, alive. so, it's a great duality piece, willie! :)
Thank you for your answer. Didn't think it was that simple! I thought I have to tweak the codes for the template. Cheers! :)
sometimes willie? that's pretty good, i feel like that most of the time. ;)
check out my last "island"... i hope you enjoy...:o))
Thanks for stopping by! :-)Willie
