illustration friday: modify

Home sweet home.

Ok, I know this is a bit morbid (and existential). Or at least it seems that way. But consider that when we die, our bodies are modified in a new way, and if we are able to accept the reality of our own dying, living becomes more meaningful. And (as some Buddhists say) if we become comfortable with the notion of the impermanence of everything, it is easier to let go of attachments, and attachment is what causes suffering.

How's that for a cheery way to start a Friday!!! :-)))))

When I was younger I could not figure out why RIP was put on all tomb stone drawings. Like...your ripped because you are dead. Then one day I awoke from my dumb blonde sleep and realized what it meant. Great concept Willie.

  8. I would like to be cremated, formed into diamonds and then poured into shotgun cartridges. I'd then like my eldest child to use me to murder a wild boar, dress the boar in my clothes and have an open casket funeral.

    Nice illo, btw! ;)

  14. Excellent post Willie. I did read this (about the acceptance of impermanence of things, even people) and a friend and i were actually discussing this when his grandma died. It's something we should all strive for more.
