  2. Great set of questions! Here are my answeral attempts:

    A) Freedom of Speech is to be able to say everything out loud that wanders your mind without being sanctioned for it. It hopefully comes upon the individual with the wisdom to know when to speak and when to remain silent.

    B) With your own reality a lot, since you mostly act/react according to what you (choose) to see and what is invisble to you. Most people agree that due to our different ways of perception we all have our own reality, but through the communication of what we see in writing, doing art, and talks we can gather insight into other people´s reality and check what we perceive as common reality.

    C) Authentic is when the fine inner lines of believes and questions manifest in the outer wrinkles. Being authentic is when we achieve to stay true to our own spirit or character despite the pressures we receive from external forces.

Freespeech is a small ubiquitous blob that suffocates in an environment lacking individual liberty of press (note the stress on “press”).

If his diet consists of truth and consideration, free speech can be Inspiring.

Feed it with contempt and malice, and it can become deadly, and will eventually through binary fission reproduce the dragon, Slander and the orc, Bigotry.

  4. I think this quote expressses my thoughts the best.

"I cannot agree with those who rank modesty among the virtues. To the logician all things should be seen exactly as they are, and to underestimate one's self is as much a departure from truth as to exaggerate one's own powers."

    ~Shelock Holmes, natch!

And then he said this, "It is part of the settled order of nature that such a girl should have followers." So please stop by my bloggy to sing some songs, read some poems & ponder my images ...then join me OVER at The Library Park. Bring the sketchpad too!

  7. Kewl! My $0.02...

    What is free speech?
A table full of Texas women who've drunk more than three margaritas each.

What bearing does what I see have to do with reality?
When one can answer the implied question of "who is doing the seeing" one approaches reality. (For example, given that the cells in my body are in constant flux, many dying and many being created...where does the "I" that seems to be so real really exist?)

    What is authentic?
    Flow and change.

Hope you all have a splendid weekend!

freedom of speech - to be able to say anything I want in my blog. If people don't like it they can go to someone else's blog - that's freedom of listening or reading actually. Does that mean I should say anything that pops into my fevered brain? No, just because you can say something doesn't mean you should. It's the should part that's hard since not everyone understands that concept.

Reality vs illusion. Well I'll take illusion anytime. I have a crooked retina (thought I was going to say mind didn't ya?"). Operation 4 yrs ago left me with my eyesight but one eye can't see a straight line. If I cover my good eye and look at a line, it's crooked. Mind says what a minute that's not real, that line's straight. And because my eyes are now very sensitive to light, colors are very intense, brighter. So now I draw crooked lines and bright colors. It may be an illusion but it's my reality.

Authentic - overused word to mean based on fact so it's trustable? Authentic = factual = reality = see above.

And you have a very nice weekend!

The second one is so cool, i would hang it in my livingroom wall, so people could sit and think about and maybe leave my house with something else on their minds. I´ll be back for more!
