Doodle in red and black

  1. Busy day in Rrramone's noggin. The lampshade & the knife go to the fair of your mind.

This drawing reminds me of the favelas in Brasil. Tall, teetering structures made of brick and cardboard and aluminum siding and any other available materials. They are chaotic and sometimes dangerous, but fascinating places with many kind people mixed in with the drug dealers.

Your lines make me think of the antennas and wires that are all over the place in the favelas.

  4. I love the life and play here. I hate to admit it, but I was instantly reminded of the facade of It's a Small World at Disneyland...I guess childhood memories sneak up on you when least expected...

The red and black reach out to me, and somehow I can't stop smiling!

  5. This is wonderful! A doodle that kept on going...and going. It reminds me of Santa Cruz's boardwalk. It also brought to mind another artist that I admire...you should check out Melinda Beck's art at www.melindabeck.com

    Cheers!

  9. LOVED Vatyma's idea of putting it on a bed quilt...may be a new business op for you, Willie! - Seriously, your own designer line.

Though I found the whole thing amazing, I have to admit that I was looking for the subliminal ...the knife in the heart and phallic rocket projectile to the upper left! Am I mentioning things others notice, but fail to say? (The tart has your pulse more than others)-

THink I need to get a life!

  10. Oooh, I am very fond of this two color, thickly jumbled thing. It's like a vitamin for the brain.

  11. Ok, I'll have a go at saying what it reminds me of... Luna Park in Sydney (Australia) - although it is missing the big smiling mouth at the bottom, but no trouble at all for me to imagine it in anyway. Thanks for the fun. First time I've been here, but I'll be back.

  12. Great energy and design in this!

    My associations?

  13. I'm still decoding this one...but just noticed now that the base of this fabulously intricate structure has the words "Not inspired"? And the fish seems to be laughing, although there are tears of blood, so it cost something to shed it...and all this under the gaze of the lamp...the light?

I like the balance...with the future/the geometric on one side, and the natural, organic shapes on the other...hovering over water...

    Fascinating!

  14. I love this. It would make a fantastic t-shirt design if I dare say it. You should think about opening a Cafepress store.
