Eyeball flower with snake and cityscape

  1. I love your line work, I'm a big fan of people who have such loose, expressive line. I tend to be tight and closed up. I hope you had fun in Huntington (even though it's been a bit overcast and breezy).

  2. Hey...I missed you...There must be an abandoned name blog database that wackos choose from. I had no idea that someone snagged those names...How did you find me? I'm sorry I didn't notify you...I was getting some really weird post...and it freaked me out...hence the name change...of course you can add me to your list.

  3. You are wrong about the flower, but everyone makes this mistake, so don't feel bad.

That is not an Eyeball flower; it is what locals call the "False Eyeball Flower" or officially the Sardine Bush. It is a close relative to the Eyeball flower, but if you closely take a look under the flower you will see that it is growing sardines. The Sardine Bush is the only plant that grows sardines under the flower, which makes it distinctive from the Eyeball flower.

Like I said, many people mistake this bush for the Eyeball Flower so don't feel too bad about the misclassification. It is a good find though as it is rarely seen in it's native two dimensional form.

  5. Ookami, your insight into genera, species, and phylum reminds me of Borges' essay on John Wilkins.
