What are the things I really want to say? Who is really underneath? Am I brave enough to own my truth?

  1. and why is it that in our Santa myth he brings only consumer goods, toasters and the like and not healing?

  2. Well Willie, I think that there is nothing I can say to reach what u've put in this illo. U've touched me.

    I send u a big kiss.

So touching. I feel like sharing some of those tears that are coming out of their eyes.

Powerful illo! We all need to unload now and then.

  5. Three years later and your wishlist is still apropos.

And yes, I think you're brave enough to own your truth. Especially since you can ask the question.

  8. Willie, you have a way of making us feel what you do when creating these drawings...a serious moment on the holidays is refreshing, though we carry the burden of these wishes all year.
Thanks for again sharing your thoughts with all of us...you are amazingly honest.

  10. Um....about Santa....

Okay no but really. Tapping into childlike faith - and trust - demaskulating is courageous.

I wish I were a Santa who could bring you the things you want - even through this electronic media, your spirit shines through.

  13. This is great and very moving. It would be good if Santa really could grant these wishes. I don't want anything material myself either...

  15. Owch! That's tough! That's very sensitive unless you are just trying to pull in suckers like me who even cry when they watch TEEN WOLF after staying up too late. Well, "You've Got The Power", good job! Happy Halloween/Christmas!

Wow. Beautiful drawing...you almost made me cry Rrrrrramone.

I am challenging you to the Christmas Song game. List 5 of your favorite Christmas Songs and then tag 5 other people to do the same. I was tagged by Doug and I have my list up now. :)

It is sad that they think Santa can give them all that, but good that they have hope. I lovely illustration.

I guess Santa has his work cut out for him. Maybe all of us should pitch in and help him out a bit.

Thanks Willie for commenting on my Gazmir the Clown post. Its been a while. I hope you enjoyed your trip to Africa.

Yes, Santa has indeed a difficult job if he should fullfill all her wishes - funny and touching illo.

  21. I read that all of the letters sent to the northpole or santa are answered by people who live at the North Pole, they do it all year long! Your illo and sentiment are sensitive and sweet!

  22. How beautiful and thought-provoking. Wouldn't it be lovely if we could crawl into Santa's lap and ask for these things? I believe you are brave enough to own your own truth; you were strong enough to share some of it in this illustration.

    Wonderful, Willie!
