This reminds me of my life! Great take on the subject and as always really good design. By the way.... which way did you go? (Don't answer: All of them, that would give away your secrets.)
goin' to houston! i'll be in your neck of the woods next week, but the real answer is: in the right direction, i believe, but i tend to stumble a lot...
Sometimes the "safe" route doesn't yield the best results overall! Funny, today Ernesto is hitting our area and my first decision was which direction do I travel that is overall the "safest!" GREAT job!!!!
A fun take on a traditional road sign. You're smart to portray all the dead ends, as there are definitely plenty of those in life. Also love the arrows in the type. Very smart design! Have yourself a fun holiday weekend, Willie!
Man, I wonder what someone could've said to get the dreaded " This post has been removed by the blog administrator."??? I know I don't wanna go out THAT way! :P
I ask myself this all the time. Funny thing is, the things I once thought were the safe options (getting married, having kids), now seems to be the real risky, adventurous routes, even if they are the ones more travelled.
okay okay...I'll let you know my secret...I'm really a mermaid...emersed by the sea of los angeles...still trying to find my way...didn't mean to hit you with my water...
thanks...I love this drawing funny how the cloud looks like a snail...but maybe that was on purpose...however do snails move faster without their shells...and why do snails have shells anyway?
let me know if you care to research...vice versa...
Safe route?! Where's the fun in that? ;) Loved your silver lining photo. I linked to it (hope you don't mind). It was just so perfect for the day I was having.
Depends... taking "safe" route sometimes comes at the price of sacrificing the best views! I go for the view -- stupid at times, but sure makes for interesting stories. I bet you can tell about some roads less traveled;)

ReplyDeleteLife is a wacky trip on a double roundabout.
ReplyDeleteIs it a one-way road?
Do we get to circle back in the next lifetime?

ReplyDeleteI'll let you know when I get there!
ReplyDeleteVery philosophical! I love the way you use text to fill space. BTW I took a page from your book for IF this week: the quick sketch.
ReplyDeleteGreat sketch! I feel this has been me for the past month or so. Life well illustrated.

ReplyDeleteI don't think the safe route is the best at this moment.
ReplyDeleteNice concept, dear friend!
Fascinating sign, great work; though safe isn't always right.

no safe place anymore?
ReplyDeleteLife is so complicated. I think you nailed it!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a very exciting way. Now I'm going by bike, so I would take the way with wind at my back - and hope, I'll end the right place
ReplyDeleteWell THIS certainly strikes a chord, doesn't it. Great conceptualization.
ReplyDeleteWhat is safe? One persons fear is anothers delight. Love the maze like higgled de piggled arrows on the sign!
ReplyDeleteGreat visual metaphor, Willie! The way you pack so much meaning into simple drawings is wonderful:> You are a -maz-ing!
ReplyDeleteI ask myself this all the time. Funny thing is, the things I once thought were the safe options (getting married, having kids), now seems to be the real risky, adventurous routes, even if they are the ones more travelled.
ReplyDeleteCool and thought provoking...the Rrrrramone way :-)
ReplyDeleteSometimes staying home seems like the safest thing...but I can scare myself too. The sign reminds me of driving in San Francisco yesterday!
ReplyDeletehehe, sometimes I really don't know where I'm going!
ReplyDeleteThis isn't helping...
Looks good though
yes, i am, Willie !!!
ReplyDeletei'm flying ;-)))))
really cool !!!
Hugs !!!
so many forks in the road, its hard to know! perfect illo!
ReplyDeleteOne should be glad real road signs are a bit easier.
ReplyDeleteSafey is just an illusion really. Sort of like your road signs.
ReplyDeleteLove this!

Your simple drawings always make a clear point. This one is no exception. Makes me happy that I don't have to commute every morning.

ReplyDeletegreat stuff!
good question .... are you?
ReplyDeleteSafe route?! Where's the fun in that? ;)
ReplyDeleteLoved your silver lining photo. I linked to it (hope you don't mind). It was just so perfect for the day I was having.
Where I'm from, these are the normal road signs. None of them are safe.
ReplyDeleteFabulous illustration! No such thing as a safe route anymore, no matter how much people like to pretend there is. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteDepends... taking "safe" route sometimes comes at the price of sacrificing the best views! I go for the view -- stupid at times, but sure makes for interesting stories. I bet you can tell about some roads less traveled;)
ReplyDeletePointed commentary!
ReplyDeletethat color is beautiful!
ReplyDeletei'm going straight to hell, if i don't change my ways! ;)
i think this just about sums up what im feeling now. hence, i need to ask you some things about art school... meh..
