someone once told me I had very clear eyes. I liked that! as ones eyes are the window to the soul, as some say, i thought that mean they could see into me.
thanks for sharing pages from your sketchbook, i love seeing sketches, sometimes even more than finished work. Also, I really like where you are going with the overlapping in your belated birthday sketch, nice approach.
Yes some things are clear...California's cloudless skies...but wait, there's smog...well, how about...er...um....well maybe not? It was fun visiting again and seeing your curious drawings. Loved the one with the foot watching football (or was it baseball--I'm not clear on that).
I really like both this illustration and the one entitled "Life is?" I like that they are not an answer so much as a question, inviting the viewer to think and interact. Very cool.
Hey, Willie! Glad to have you back in the States.
ReplyDeleteYou are so existential with these last two entries. I am SO wearing a beret and snapping my fingers for you. ; - D
Hmm....well.....I got nothin' clever or witty to say. Would however like to see more of those Africa photos. That's clear!
ReplyDeletevery cool concept!
ReplyDeleteNope. You'll have to explain. Clearly I'm confused -- but I do know what I like and this is included.

ReplyDeleteWhat's clear?
ReplyDeleteNaiad tears. Dragonfly wings. Bells ringing in the desert. The nictating membrane on a dragon's eye.
:-)
Salvador Dali?
ReplyDeletegreat!
ReplyDeleteAs mud.
ReplyDeleteNo, I can't say anything really is Willie. Anyway, love the symbolism in your work and your approach.

ReplyDeleteThis makes me think of the saying "clear as mud" - a crazy philosophical take on clarity which asks more questions than it answers...
ReplyDeletegreat Willie...are you ok ? or upside down? lol
ReplyDeleteThis is just like a zen koan. Love it.
ReplyDeleteProbably not. I know my head isn't clear right now, but I dig the drawing. Clearly!
ReplyDeleteThe tears from the eye are picked up by the truck, driven up the TV, and used to water the flower! What's not to understand? :)
ReplyDeleteJust love your surreal drawings always something to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteWow very dali-esque! You have a very quirky and unique style. I look forward to seeing more of your stuff. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteHi Willie!
ReplyDeleteNo, it's not clear. But cool and surrealistic - great!
greetings from denmark - georg
Super question - no, nothing is clear in that mind. But I must say some things seem more clear at some times than other.
ReplyDeleteNo, nothing is clear except your style. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteclear?? not sure..but excellent work!
ReplyDeleteI see a TV. I see the road ahead. And I see a huge question mark.
ReplyDeleteIf I get my guidance from the media, I will be a lost soul indeed.
Thought provoking.

ReplyDeletemmmh i'll think about that. intriquing illo!
ReplyDeleteThis is a real head-scratcher. I like your work because it's always so thought provoking.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting! And yes, very little is ever really clear.
ReplyDeletewhat's clear to me is that this would make a beautiful mobile...and then the direction would be constantly changing....
