Illustration Friday - Foggy
The last few weeks have been very foggy for me as my good friend Paul is still unconscious in the hospital after being hit by a truck while on his bicycle. You can track his progress here. I'm very grateful for all of you. Go hug somebody. :-)
i think blogger was a little foggy this morning! how's paul's progress?
ReplyDeletethis is beautiful, the tones and shades. so sorry that it is a result of spending time in an unwelcome location. :(
ReplyDeleteWillie, I am so sorry to read he is still unconscious. I will have to check out his site.
ReplyDeleteVery nice drawing.
Hi Willie, I too am sorry to hear that Paul is still seriously ill and hope that by the Grace of God he will recover . I will keep him in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteYou are a good and true friend to be so loyal and spend so many hours in attendance near his side.
Wishing you both great strength! The drawing is all silence and somber.
ReplyDeleteA modern day morandi, one of my favorite artists. the fog will clear. and paul will recover. hugs.

Is that why I like your work so much! I'm a Morandi fan too.
ReplyDeleteAll best wishes for Paul.
I visited Paul's site last night to check his progress, can I tell you, niagara falls. You are such a good friend, here's a cyber hug for you, illness is just as hard on the caregivers. (The healing power of oreos is well documented).
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work...and I pray your friend gets well quickly!

Nice job in pulling your resources together and visiting a friend at the same time. Great illustration. Hope your friend gets well soon.
ReplyDeleteVery nice work, though it kind of breaks my heart a little. I'll say a prayer for your friend.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Its a perfectly cromulent word ;)
The fog will lift - wishing your friend a speedy recovery
ReplyDeleteNothing foggier than waiting for someone to come out of a fog. But brain healing takes MUCH more time than you would think. Best thing would be to wake up and be yourself again. Reality...it takes time, time and more time. This is when the slog works starts for all.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you all, I'm off to hug the hubby.
I hope the bright sun will burn that fog. Take care Willie.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe he's still in a coma. Keep talking to him. He hears you.
ReplyDeleteWonderful health food sketch you've got there :)
beautiful illustration - and really touching.
ReplyDeletetake big good care of yourself - sending best wishes across the seas...
oh shit !
ReplyDeleteHope he will come back to his life, his family and his friends.
Best wishes and congrats for your excellent illustration.
What a wonderful and loving community surrounding Paul. It is very touching to see his site and I am wishing him a speedy recovery and strength.
ReplyDelete(Lovely drawing, too.)
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, it breaks my heart! I feel a bit foggy (and misty) for you and him. But your illo is beautiful, eat an extra oreo for me and don't forget to drink lots of water!
ReplyDeleteI love the order within chaos in this, the concentrated left side and the sparse right, and of course your lines are always exquisite!
ReplyDeleteWillie, such a lovely drawing. It's filled with emotion and emptiness at the same time. I will keep your friend in my thoughts and prayers. God bless.
ReplyDeleteIt is strange how the fog in life helps us see what really matters. My prayers are with you and Paul.
ReplyDeleteWillie, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. My thoughts are with you! Sending a cyberhug to you!
ReplyDeleteI really like the stack of jello or ice cream cups next to the Oreos. Looks like one of my late nights in grad school finishing my portfolio.
ReplyDeleteMy illustration for foggy would have been a blank page in my own sketch book. I really miss Paul at work and can't wait to brainstorm with him again.
Nice linework. Best wishes to Paul.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking positive thoughts for your friend...

ReplyDeletesorry to hear about your friend - i'm an avid bike rider so I know how dangerous it can be riding in traffic! All the best to him, and great illo too.
ReplyDeletei think it's wonderful to make a site about his recovery, very nice idea!
