Illustration Friday - Sacrifice

When we don't take care of ourselves, we risk our health, and ultimately our lives. The ultimate sacrifice. And to take care of ourselves we may have to sacrifice short term pleasures, and focus on our larger purpose.

Sometimes, that ain't fun.

Have a glorious day!

You mean, like not smoking? (still struggling with that one myself). A sad, powerful image.

  9. you are a constant source of, well, I'd say 'enjoyment' but in response to cig in mouth and gun at head, that just doesn't seem like the right word...but I hope you can did out the compliment there..........

  10. Oooh, a different approach with the collage~ I like it! I also like your message....the key is balance, don't you think? Cliche, but True, nonetheless. Also...have been meaning to ask you....where does "Rrrrrramone" come from? It always makes me think of "Rrrrrramone" from "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion."

    Smoking made me sophisticated.
    Drink made me funny.
    Drugs made me clever.
    I gave them up.
Now Im living a long and boring life.

  35. I'm late making the rounds this week! This is a departure from your suual pen drawings, and i like it! You have certainly nailed the idea of "sacrificing" the short terms indulgences for the long term health. Good job! And, to echo Amy's question...where does "Rrrrrramone" come from?
